With plenty of tie-ins to the underlying meaningof the many injustices we’ve faced in thepast year alone, Justin Bieber’s new album takes a much deeper stance on the term justice as many were quick to notice that he sampled parts of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s speech. The album’s first track 2
Why Justin’s named His Album ” Justice ” ?
because there’s so much injustice in thisworld and there has been since the beginning of time. I’m really honoured to play a small part and be able to make music that inspires and can uplift people in this time.
While Justin’s decision was meant to uplift and inspire, he instantly received massive amounts of backlash for using the snippet to introduce a love song at the start of the album.
Not only that, but following Track 7’s MLKInterlude, Justin goes right into a song called Die For You, which had nothing at all to do with MLK’s devastating assassination.
Twitter went off on Justin for his tonedeaf use of MLK’s speech, as the majorityof the album appears to be about his feelings of love and upbeat dance tracks with ZERO connection to a man who died fighting for justice.
